Home / Graphic Dictionary / Safety margin
When designing printed materials such as flyers and cards it is important to consider the safety margin. This is an imaginary zone on the inner edge of your design in which you can no important text or graphics should place.
A minimal deviation can always occur during cutting. If you have text or important parts too close to the edge, there is a chance that they will be (partially) lost.
The cutting machines we use are very precise, but small deviations can always occur. Therefore, without a safety margin, you run the risk of text or logos being cut off. With a proper margin, you ensure that your design always looks professional, the way you intended.
For all our flyers and cards applies:
Please allow a safety margin of at least 5 mm from the cutting edge.
So always place your text, logos and other important elements at least 5 mm inside the edge of your design.
