Number of pages and circulation

What is the difference between page count and circulation?

When you place an order through our order form, we ask for two important pieces of information: the number of pages and the print run. These two are often mixed up even though they mean something completely different. We are happy to explain:

Number of pages = the number of unique designs

By “number of pages,” we mean the number of different files or designs you want printed.
For example, do you have three posters, each with a different design? Then choose 3 pages.

Note: Products such as posters, flyers and cards almost always involve single-sided designs. So you don’t have to take into account front or back covers like a booklet.

Circulation = the number of copies per design

The print run indicates how many times each design should be printed.
Suppose you have one poster design and you want to have ten of them printed, then the print run is 10.

Do you have three different designs and want five of each design? Then enter:
Number of pages: 3
Print run: 5

Briefly:

  • Number of pages = the number of different files or designs

  • Print run = how many times each design is printed
